Roman 10:15 And how
shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful
are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad
tidings of good things!
I placed my trust in Christ
for salvation at the age of 10 at Trinity Baptist Church in Tarboro, NC.
My relationship with Christ continued to grow through Sunday school and
bible study. During my college years, I began serving Jesus Christ
through the Baptist Student Union at UNCW as Church Outreach Leader. I
had the opportunity to work with several churches in planning youth
retreats and lock-ins. Through this opportunity, God brought my wife,
Marietta, into my path. Togethe,r we served Christ by planning bible
studies and youth activities.
Marietta placed her trust in Christ for salvation at the age of 12
during a revival at Shell Point Baptist Church in Shallotte, NC. Her
relationship with God continued to grow through her bible study and
prayer life. God began to really prepare her for service with children’s
ministry in high school by teaching in VBS. She continued to diligently
serve the Lord throughout her college years in the Baptist Student Union
at UNCW.
In 2001 Marietta and I were married at Scott’s Hill Baptist Church.
That same year the Lord opened the opportunity for us to be Awana
Commanders at Scott’s Hill Baptist Church. We rejoiced as children came
to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ through the Awana
ministry. The Lord burdened our hearts to reach more boys and girls with
the gospel of Jesus Christ. In fall of 2005, God called us to be Awana
missionaries. It is amazing how God could use us to accomplish His
mission of expanding his kingdom.
In October of 2006 God blessed us with our first child Anna Leigh.
During October, we were also accepted as Awana missionaries to Eastern
NC. God is continuing to bless us through the ministry and by watching
Anna grow. We are currently in the process of raising our support and
looking forward to partnering with churches in helping children and
youth to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. |
